Stacking garage

Stacking garages (often called duplex garages or double parkers) make it possible to stack and park vehicles on top of each other using platforms.
Stacking garages expand the supply of parking spaces and thus create more flexibility in parking garages and large cities. They offer a good alternative on plots with little space and save costs in the long term.

How a stacking garage works

Steerable platforms allow one vehicle to be parked on the upper level while another is parked underneath. It would be like the mechanism of a car lift in a garage. The system is controlled by the driver via a control unit with a key. Safety mechanisms ensure that the cars are not damaged.

Models

The most cost-effective variant is the “non-retractable platforms”. No earthworks are required as the garage frame is built on level ground. It can be retrofitted to any garage with a ceiling height of three meters or more, depending on the height of the cars to be parked.

To be able to park the upper vehicle, the lower space must be free so that the platform can be lowered. This is a suitable option for long-term parkers who do not use their second car every day. The summer convertible serves as an example in winter, and the car can be safely stored in the cold season.

The second model is the “retractable platform” for independent parking. A pit is required for this, as the entire horizontal platform can be lowered. Both vehicles are therefore accessible at all times.

The last model is the underfloor system and the most expensive variant. The platform can be completely sunk into the ground and is therefore also known as a retractable garage. The car can therefore be completely concealed and is also suitable as anti-theft protection.

Advantages of a stacking garage

Stacking garages offer more parking options, even in confined spaces. Especially in large cities and small parking garages. They are adjustable in height and width so that even larger cars can be accommodated. With the underfloor system, it offers the car owner increased protection against theft.
